Pengaruh Motivasi Kerja dan Disiplin Kerja terhadap Kinerja Personel: Studi pada Bagian Sumber Daya Manusia Polresta Tangerang
Abstract
Personnel performance plays a critical role in supporting effective human resource management within police organizations. Improving personnel performance requires attention to several organizational factors, particularly work motivation and work discipline. This study aimed to examine the effects of work motivation and work discipline on personnel performance at the Human Resources Division of Tangerang Resort Police (Polresta Tangerang). A quantitative approach with an associative research design was employed. The study involved 35 personnel selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, partial (t) tests, simultaneous (F) tests, and the coefficient of determination with IBM SPSS Statistics 27. The findings revealed that work motivation had a positive and significant effect on personnel performance (t = 2.668, p = 0.012), while work discipline also demonstrated a positive and significant effect with a stronger contribution (t = 4.707, p < 0.001). Simultaneously, work motivation and work discipline significantly influenced personnel performance (F = 12.794, p < 0.001), explaining 44.4% of the variance in personnel performance (R² = 0.444). These findings suggest that strengthening employees' motivation and fostering consistent work discipline are essential strategies for improving personnel performance in police institutions.
