The textile trade is one of the sectors contributing to Indonesia’s export performance and foreign exchange earnings. Japan is one of the main export destinations due to its high demand for quality textile products. This study aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges of Indonesia’s textile trade with Japan based on export data from 2025. The study employs a quantitative descriptive method using secondary data obtained through a literature review. The analysis involves identifying trends in the value of Indonesia’s textile exports to Japan throughout 2025 and interpreting them based on international trade theory and prior research. The results indicate that Indonesia’s textile exports to Japan fluctuated at the beginning of the year but tended to increase in the second half. Trade opportunities are supported by high demand in the Japanese market, Indonesia–Japan trade cooperation, production cost advantages, and the growing trend toward sustainable products. Meanwhile, the challenges faced include high quality standards, global competition, fluctuations in market demand, and limitations in production technology. The study’s findings highlight the importance of enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s textile industry to strengthen its export position in the Japanese market.
